Abstract

The rapid advancement of automation and artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming labor markets globally, leading to significant shifts in job dynamics and impacting social welfare. This study explores these changes through a qualitative approach using a comprehensive literature review and library research. It aims to understand how automation and AI are reshaping job markets, affecting employment patterns, and influencing social well-being. The research synthesizes various scholarly articles, reports, and case studies to provide insights into the evolving nature of work and its implications for workers. Findings indicate that while automation and AI introduce efficiencies and create new opportunities, they also pose challenges such as job displacement, skill mismatches, and increased inequality. The study highlights the need for proactive measures to mitigate adverse effects, including policy interventions, workforce retraining, and educational reforms. By addressing these issues, societies can better navigate the complexities of the changing labor landscape and enhance overall social welfare. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on the future of work and provides recommendations for stakeholders to effectively manage the transition to an automated and AI- driven economy.
