The Role of Emerging Technologies in Transforming Education: A Comprehensive Review
Abstract
This comprehensive review explores the transformative impact of emerging technologies on education through a qualitative analysis of existing literature. The study aims to provide a holistic understanding of how innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), blockchain, and adaptive learning technologies are reshaping educational paradigms. By conducting a thorough library research and literature review, the study examines the integration of these technologies in various educational settings, their influence on teaching and learning processes, and their potential to enhance student engagement, accessibility, and personalized learning experiences. The findings reveal that emerging technologies have the potential to significantly improve educational outcomes by providing more flexible, interactive, and student- centered learning environments. However, the study also identifies challenges, such as the digital divide, ethical concerns, and the need for teacher training, which must be addressed to fully realize the benefits of these technologies. The review concludes that while emerging technologies offer promising opportunities for educational transformation, their successful implementation requires careful consideration of the socio- economic context, pedagogical strategies, and infrastructure support. This review contributes to the growing body of knowledge on educational technology and provides valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and researchers interested in leveraging technology to enhance educational practices.
